December 3, 2011 - The Student Bar Association of the GWU Law School partnered again with KAH DC Metro to host a packaging event. Over 40 volunteers came together to package 17,712 meals. The meals will be shipped to Haiti in mid to late December.

September 9, 2011- The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and KAH DC Metro partnered to host a packaging event for its annual Community Service Day. Over 500 GWU medical students and faculty came together to package 65,664 meals which were shipped to the Horn of Africa to feed starving people in refugee camps. KAH DC Metro is grateful to GWU for raising funds to make this event possible.

May 14, 2011 - Our second mobile event was a success!! This  event was graciously hosted by the 5th grade class of The Green Acres School in Rockville, MD who encouraged parents to raise the funds to host the packaging event. In just 4 hours, these kids packaged 10,500 meals. These meals were combined with those from our previous event and shipped to Haiti. We are proud to announce our first Mobile event held on March 19, 2011 at The Sanctuary in Capitol Heights, MD. Over 40 area high school students attended and gained community service hours and put together 7,776 meals!   

February 27, 2011-The first event of 2011, we packaged 20,034 meals!  Co-hosted by GW Student Bar Association, over 35 volunteers came out to offer community service.

October 16, 2010- Our 1 year anniversary event! Miriams Kitchen graciously hosted this event which resulted in 21,168 meals packed to be shipped to Nicaragua.  We want to welcome all new volunteers and thank everyone who came out and did an excellent job! 

 July 10, 2010- This event was co-hosted by the GW Student Bar Association and held at GW’s Lisner Hall.  In just about 5 hours, 16,416 meals were packed!  14,256 of these meals were shipped to orphanages in Nicaragua via a partner- the World Missions Outreach.  Remaining meals were taken to local DC homeless shelters.

          April 4, 2010- Our Easter day event brought out several students looking to gain community service hours and together they packed a whopping 14,256 meals!  These meals were sent to Nicaragua.

Jan 18, 2010- Over 130 volunteers came out on Martin Luther King Day to The George Washington University Hospital and packaged 21,750 meals, all of which were sent to Haiti to help in the relief efforts after its devastating earthquake.

Oct 18, 2009- Launch Event: Our premiere event held in honor of World Food Day, produced 9,500 meals packed by our first area volunteers!  Congratulations!
